Sustainable Development 13 Chapter 4 Standards for Supply Chain Sustainability 4.1 Environmental Sustainability Bosideng requires all suppliers to fulfill their environmental protection responsibilities diligently in the process of making commercial decisions and carrying out operations. Suppliers must adhere to the following basic principles: • Protect the quality of environmental elements such as water bodies, atmosphere, and soil; • Adopt energy-saving measures to improve energy utilization efficiency, control and reduce greenhouse gas emissions; • Manage pollutants such as wastewater, waste gas, and noise generated in production and operations to ensure compliance with discharge standards; • Promote resource conservation and recycling to reduce resource consumption; • Prioritize the use of more environmentally friendly and safer materials in products and manufacturing processes, and promote green design and clean production; • Avoid damaging local biodiversity and promote harmonious coexistence between humans and nature during production and operations. 4.1.1 Environmental Management • Suppliers are responsible for legally obtaining and maintaining all environmental permits, registration certificates, and other relevant approvals and filing documents required for production and operations at their locations; 4.1.2 Energy Management • Suppliers should comprehensively identify energy types and consumption levels across buildings and all stages of production and operations; • Suppliers should establish complete records of energy consumption to track electricity usage for production; • Suppliers should improve energy efficiency and prioritize the use of renewable energy; • When constructing or renovating electrical systems, suppliers should install sub-metering devices to achieve precise monitoring of energy consumption; • Suppliers must maintain voltage within acceptable tolerances to effectively control energy usage; • Suppliers should choose high-efficiency lighting fixtures and components, and periodically review the overhead lighting layout to optimize energy efficiency. 4.1.3 Greenhouse Gas Management • Suppliers are encouraged to record and continuously update a list of the following sources of greenhouse gas emissions. Relevant greenhouse gases include: o Carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) o Methane (CH4) o Nitrous oxide (N2O) o Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) o Perfluorocarbons (PFCs)
